Our team participated to the Veuve Clicquot RE-CREATION AWARDS and Oscar’s proposal won the National Jury award! Congratulations!
The House of Veuve Clicquot, an emblem of innovation, introduced the Re-Creation Awards – and international competition inviting the public to design the 2015 Clicquot Mailbox.
The champagne house has been a beacon of creativity since Veuve Clicquot’s inception over 240 years ago. Its “USA-style” Mailbox packaging, inspired by Madame Clicquot’s history of correspondence with her clientèle, allows one to send the bottle through postal mail.
The first round of Mailbox winners were determined by an online public vote between November 15 and December 15, 2014. In tandem, a second winner from each of the 10 host countries was chosen via a National Jury, composed of high-profile personalities from each home country.
The first Spanish winner, Oscar Del Cerro, was selected by the panel of Spanish design leaders. The jury – comprising designers Sandra Tarruella and Lázaro Rosa Violán, IED Director Dario Assante and Veuve Clicquot’s Senior Brand Manager Verónica Fernandez – chose Oscar’s design based on its originality, relevance and classic Clicquot twist. Oscar’s Mailbox design, Mosaic Clicquot, was inspired by Gaudi’s trencadis, an antic and artisanal technique used in organic architecture, a parallel with Veuve Cliquot artisanal and traditional processes.
The twenty international finalists from around the world were delivered to Veuve Clicquot’s Hôtel du Marc, in the Champagne region of France, for a prestigious two day experience. At a glamorous ceremony on April 9, 2015, an international jury of influential names in design revealed Canadian, Eileen Ugarkovic as the International Winner of the Veuve Clicquot Re-Creation Awards.
